Hi, I'm Jessica
Owner / Photographer
My love for photography started long before I ever picked up a camera. I grew up surrounded by framed memories, and I’ve always believed that photos are one of the most meaningful ways to tell our stories. When my oldest son was born, I wanted professional photos of him every month but couldn’t afford it, so I borrowed my mom’s camera and taught myself how to shoot and edit. Before long, my husband encouraged me to turn that passion into something more, and in 2018, J. Huseman Photography was born!
What started as a way to earn extra income quickly became a heartfelt mission — to meet new people and capture the moments they’ll treasure forever. While I first thought I’d focus on babies and children, I soon discovered my true love lies in photographing weddings, with seniors and families coming in a close second.
Beyond capturing beautiful images, I also have a deep passion for helping others learn photography. From choosing the right gear and shooting in manual to mastering lighting, editing, and even starting their own business. I don’t claim to know it all, but I genuinely love sharing what I do know and helping others fall in love with photography just like I did.
My approach

For me, photography is all about connection; capturing the real emotions, the quiet moments, and the joy that makes each story unique. I want your images to feel like you: genuine, timeless, and full of life.
When I photograph your wedding, I use both digital and film cameras. Film adds a depth and warmth that can’t quite be replicated, a nostalgic, storytelling quality that brings out the emotion of your day in a truly beautiful way. I love blending the crispness of digital with the texture of film to create a collection that feels rich, authentic, and unforgettable.
Whether we’re celebrating your wedding day, your senior year, or your growing family, my approach is simple: make you feel comfortable, keep things light and fun, and capture the moments that matter most. I rely more on gentle prompts than stiff poses, encouraging laughter, movement, and genuine connection so your photos reflect who you really are.
At the end of the day, my heart is in creating honest, beautiful images that tell your story. The kind you’ll treasure for a lifetime.
